The Citation as recorded in the Permanent Register of the Order.
Allan was a land agent and accredited land appraiser for BC Hydro. Later in his career he became a BC Hydro Human Resources Manager. He joined St. Cuthbert’s Anglican Church in 1978. Within a year, he was asked by the late Reverend Bert Ainsley to be his Rector’s Warden. Al served in this role for two years. He then chaired the Canonical Committee in the selection of the Reverend Dan Anonby to lead St. Cuthbert Church in 1983. Reverend Anonby selected Al to be his Rector’s Warden for a total of nine years, which saw the completion of the new parish buildings in 1989. During the construction, Al was the on-site Project Manager. After the new building was completed, Al effectively retired from his role as Church Officer. Throughout the construction of St. Cuthbert’s, Al was elected to Diocesan Council and appointed to the Bishop’s Selection Committee. At Archbishop Douglas Hambidge’s request, Al developed a training program for assessors at ACPO (Advisory Committee on Postulants for Ordination) and he served as assessor himself. He acted as a human resources consultant to various parishes’ Canonical Committees during their selection process. Al assisted several parishes in resolving performance issues, setting goals and their church priorities. Recently Al was again involved in Parish Council and participated in their activities. In 2015 he was again asked to chair the Canonical Committee which resulted in the selection of our current priest, Pastor Paul Woehrle. Currently Al continues to be an active participant, worshipping and enjoying the activities of St. Cuthbert Anglican Church.

He joined our Lord on Friday, October 7, 2022. May he rest in peace!
